1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the website operated for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Southeast and Gatwick Diamond Growth Gateway, referred to in these terms as “the APPG”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

By using this website, you agree to comply with these terms.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should stop using the website.

2. About the APPG

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Southeast and Gatwick Diamond Growth Gateway is an informal, cross-party group of Members of the House of Commons and House of Lords with a shared interest in the Southeast of England and the Gatwick Diamond Growth Gateway.

The APPG is not an official parliamentary body, government department, public authority or select committee. APPGs have no official status within Parliament, although they are subject to rules established by the House of Commons.

3. Parliamentary disclaimer

This is not an official website of the House of Commons or the House of Lords. It has not been approved by either House or its committees.

All-Party Parliamentary Groups are informal groups of Members of both Houses with a common interest in particular issues. The views expressed on these webpages are those of the group.

This disclaimer should also appear visibly on the website itself, not only within these terms, because the APPG rules require it to appear on APPG websites and social-media feeds.

4. Information provided on the website

The content of this website is provided for general information, engagement and discussion purposes.

It may include:

  • news about the APPG;
  • details of meetings, events and activities;
  • reports, briefings and consultation materials;
  • commentary from APPG officers, members, partners or contributors;
  • information about regional priorities and policy issues; and
  • links to information published by other organisations.

The content does not constitute legal, financial, investment, planning, political or other professional advice.

You should obtain appropriate independent advice before making a decision based on information published on this website.

5. Accuracy and availability

We take reasonable care when preparing and publishing website content. However, we do not guarantee that:

  • all information will be complete, accurate or current;
  • the website will always be available;
  • errors will be corrected immediately;
  • every event, speaker or activity will proceed as described; or
  • the website will be free from faults, viruses or other harmful material.

Policy positions, political circumstances, event arrangements and information supplied by third parties may change.

We may update, withdraw or amend website content without notice.

6. Views and contributions

Views expressed by individual Members of Parliament, Members of the House of Lords, speakers, contributors, partners or other participants do not necessarily represent the collective view of the APPG.

Material submitted to or published by the APPG may be edited for length, clarity, accuracy, accessibility or legal reasons.

Publication or discussion of a contribution does not mean that the APPG endorses it.

The APPG’s publications must be clearly distinguished from official publications of Parliament.

7. Forms, enquiries and submissions

You may use forms on the website to:

  • contact the APPG;
  • express an interest in its work;
  • register for an event;
  • respond to a consultation or call for evidence;
  • submit information or comments;
  • discuss partnership or participation opportunities; or
  • request further information.

You must ensure that information you provide is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and not misleading.

You must not use a form to submit:

  • unlawful, abusive, threatening or discriminatory material;
  • defamatory statements;
  • confidential information that you are not authorised to disclose;
  • malicious software or harmful code;
  • unsolicited advertising or bulk promotional material;
  • personal information about another person without an appropriate reason or authority; or
  • content that infringes another person’s intellectual-property or privacy rights.

Submitting a form does not guarantee:

  • acceptance of an event registration;
  • an invitation to an APPG meeting;
  • publication of a submission;
  • membership of or formal involvement with the APPG;
  • a partnership or sponsorship arrangement;
  • a response within a particular period; or
  • that the APPG will adopt or act upon your views.

We may decline, remove or disregard a submission where we reasonably consider it inappropriate, irrelevant, unlawful or inconsistent with the APPG’s purposes.

8. Consultations and calls for evidence

Specific conditions may apply to a consultation, inquiry or call for evidence. These will be stated alongside the relevant activity where necessary.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • submissions may be reviewed by APPG officers, members, the Secretariat and relevant advisers;
  • information may be summarised or quoted in reports and briefings;
  • your name, role and organisation may be associated with your contribution;
  • contact details will not normally be published; and
  • the APPG is not obliged to publish or respond individually to every submission.

You should clearly identify information that you believe is confidential.

Marking information as confidential does not guarantee that it can be withheld where disclosure is legally required or necessary under applicable Parliamentary rules.

9. Events

Event places may be limited and may be subject to eligibility, capacity, security and venue requirements.

Registration does not necessarily guarantee admission.

We may:

  • change an event’s date, time, location, format or speakers;
  • refuse or cancel a registration;
  • impose reasonable conduct or security requirements;
  • require identification;
  • remove anyone whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe or inappropriate; or
  • cancel an event.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, attendees are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and other costs.

The APPG and Secretariat will not normally reimburse costs arising from an event being changed or cancelled.

Separate conditions may apply to events organised jointly with another organisation.

10. Photography, filming and recording

Photography, filming or audio recording may take place at APPG events.

Where reasonably practicable, attendees will be informed through registration information, event notices or announcements.

Images, recordings and attributed comments may be used in APPG:

  • reports;
  • publications;
  • website content;
  • social-media posts;
  • presentations; and
  • promotional communications.

Anyone with concerns about being photographed or recorded should contact the Secretariat before the event or speak to an organiser on arrival.

Further information about the use of personal information is provided in the Privacy Policy.

11. Email communications

Submitting an enquiry or registering for an activity allows us to send communications that are reasonably necessary to deal with that enquiry, registration or activity.

It does not automatically mean that you have agreed to receive unrelated marketing communications.

Where required, we will ask separately whether you wish to receive optional news and updates.

You may unsubscribe from optional communications at any time.

12. Acceptable use

You may use the website only for lawful purposes.

You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the website;
  • introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material;
  • collect information from the website through excessive automated scraping;
  • impersonate another person or organisation;
  • misrepresent your affiliation with the APPG or Parliament;
  • use APPG content in a way that falsely suggests endorsement;
  • reproduce content in a misleading context; or
  • use the website to commit or encourage unlawful activity.

We may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

13. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, layout, reports, briefings, photographs, videos and other original content published on the website are owned by, licensed to or used with permission by the APPG, its Secretariat or the relevant contributor.

You may:

  • view website content for personal or professional reference;
  • download or print reasonable extracts for internal, non-commercial use; and
  • link to publicly available pages on the website.

You must not, without prior permission:

  • reproduce substantial parts of the website;
  • republish APPG reports or content as your own;
  • alter material in a misleading way;
  • use content for commercial promotion;
  • remove ownership, attribution or disclaimer notices; or
  • use APPG branding in a way that suggests an official relationship or endorsement.

Where content belongs to another organisation or individual, their own copyright terms may apply.

14. APPG and Parliamentary branding

You must not use the APPG’s name, logo or branding without prior written permission where that use could imply:

  • endorsement;
  • sponsorship;
  • partnership;
  • membership;
  • approval by Parliament; or
  • an official relationship with the House of Commons or House of Lords.

The APPG must itself comply with Parliamentary rules governing its name, publications, website and use of Parliamentary branding.

15. Links to this website

You may link to the website provided that you do so fairly and lawfully.

A link must not:

  • damage the reputation of the APPG;
  • suggest an association or endorsement that does not exist;
  • present APPG content in a misleading context; or
  • imply that the website is an official Parliamentary or government website.

We may ask you to remove a link where we reasonably consider it misleading, inappropriate or harmful.

16. Links to third-party websites

The website may contain links to:

  • Parliament;
  • government departments;
  • local authorities;
  • partner organisations;
  • event services;
  • social-media platforms;
  • reports and research; and
  • other external websites.

These links are provided for information and convenience.

We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their availability, security, accuracy, content or privacy practices.

A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement.

17. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Subject to that restriction, the APPG, its officers, members, Secretariat and contributors will not be liable for loss or damage arising from:

  • reliance on general website content;
  • inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information;
  • interruption or unavailability of the website;
  • changes to or cancellation of an event;
  • third-party websites or services;
  • material supplied by external contributors;
  • viruses or other technically harmful material; or
  • unauthorised access beyond our reasonable control.

You remain responsible for deciding whether website information is appropriate for your particular circumstances.

18. Privacy and cookies

Our collection and use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Our use of cookies and related technologies is explained in our cookie notice or cookie-control facility.

These documents form part of the information governing your use of the website.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to:

  • the website;
  • the APPG’s activities;
  • its Secretariat or suppliers;
  • legal requirements; or
  • applicable Parliamentary rules.

The current version will be published on the website with its last-updated date.

Your continued use of the website after an update will be subject to the revised terms.

20. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising in connection with these terms, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
